Why we fact-check
Online casino information goes stale fast. A bonus changes, a payment method is added, a regulator updates its list. A guide that was accurate last month can mislead you today. Fact-checking is how we keep Masagana88 Pinas useful, and it is why every page shows a date.
The problem with "everyone says"
Many claims about Masagana88 circulate on Facebook, Telegram and copycat sites: free credit amounts, "licensed" badges, app download links. Most of these have no traceable source. We treat "everyone says" as no source at all.
Our rule of thumb
If we cannot point you to where a fact comes from, we do not publish it as a fact. Simple lang: walang source, walang claim.
The fact-checking process, step by step
Every claim follows the same six steps, whether it is a single number or a whole section.
Identify the claim type
We first decide what kind of statement it is: a regulatory fact, a promotional detail, a payment fact, a technical claim about apps or security, or editorial analysis. The type decides which source is acceptable and which label the claim will carry.
Check the primary source
Promotional claims are checked against the official Masagana88 platform pages: promotion terms, help sections, payment pages. Licensing status is checked only through PAGCOR Guarantee. Payment facts are checked against the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, the GCash help center and the Maya help center. Secondary sources never replace a primary one.
Label the claim
Once checked, the claim is labelled Verified information, Promotional information or Editorial analysis, using the boxes and wording described in our editorial policy. Promotional claims always carry a "confirm on the official platform" note, because they can change without notice.
Date-stamp the page
The page's last-updated date is set to the day the check was completed. When a claim is later re-checked and changed, the date changes too, so you can always see how fresh the information is.
Schedule a re-check
Promotional and regulatory items are placed on a shorter re-check cycle than evergreen explanations. Anything that could affect a deposit decision, such as bonus terms or verification steps, is reviewed first when we do a round of updates.
Remove or flag when unverifiable
If a claim cannot be traced to a primary source, or the source no longer supports it, the claim is removed or flagged as unverified with a note to verify on the official platform. We do not leave a stale figure on the page hoping it is still right.
Claim types, sources and labels
This table summarises which source we accept for each kind of claim and how the result is labelled on the page.
| Claim type | Primary source | Label used |
|---|---|---|
| Licensing or authorization status of Masagana88 | PAGCOR Guarantee list only | Verify on PAGCOR Guarantee (we do not state a status) |
| Responsible gaming rules (age, exclusion programs) | PAGCOR Responsible Gaming and Exclusion pages | Verified information |
| Bonus offers, free credit, wagering, validity | Official Masagana88 promotion and terms pages | Promotional information, confirm on the platform |
| Deposit and withdrawal methods, limits, fees, timing | Official Masagana88 payment and help pages | Promotional information, confirm on the platform |
| E-wallet regulation, QR Ph, wallet procedures | BSP, GCash help center, Maya help center | Verified information |
| App or APK availability | Official Masagana88 website download option | Promotional information, check the official site |
| Safe app installation practices | Google Play Protect and Apple support pages | Verified information |
| What a term means, what to check, our opinion | Our own analysis of the above | Editorial analysis |
Typical examples are not platform facts
Sometimes we illustrate a concept with a number, for example "a 30x wagering requirement on a PHP 1,000 bonus would mean PHP 30,000 in bets". These are labelled as typical industry examples. They are never presented as Masagana88's actual figures.
No personal experience, no fabricated data
We do not publish personal play results, user counts, ratings or testimonials, because none of them can be fact-checked. A claim that cannot be checked does not belong in a fact-checked guide.
When a source is unavailable
We say so instead of guessing
Sometimes a platform page is down, a promotion page is region-locked, or a help article has moved. When that happens, we do not fill the gap from memory or from third-party sites. We write "verify on the official platform" and leave the specific detail out until the source is available again.
Regulatory sources are never substituted
If PAGCOR Guarantee is temporarily unreachable, we do not substitute a screenshot, a badge on the platform or a claim from a partner. Licensing status is confirmed only from the regulator's own list. Kung hindi mo ma-verify, huwag munang mag-deposit.
You can run our own process yourself in under five minutes: open PAGCOR Guarantee for licensing, the official platform's promotions page for bonus terms and the GCash or Maya help center for wallet questions. Our security guide walks through it.
Corrections contact
If you believe a claim on any page is wrong or outdated, email editorial@masagana88pinas.com or use the contact page. Include the page URL, the statement in question and, where possible, a link to the source that shows the correct information. We check it against the primary source, correct the page if the error is confirmed and update the last-updated date. Salamat, your reports make every guide better.
