What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store. The next time you visit, the browser sends it back, which lets the site remember things like a preference or whether you have been there before. Local storage and session storage do a similar job but stay in the browser instead of being sent with each request. Together these are often called "cookies and similar technologies".
Cookies are classed as first-party when set by the site you are visiting and third-party when set by another domain (for example, an embedded service). They can be session cookies that vanish when you close the browser, or persistent cookies that last until an expiry date or until you delete them.
What this site uses
Masagana88 Pinas is a static site: plain pages, no user accounts, no comment system, no shopping cart. That keeps our cookie footprint very small. Here is the honest inventory, category by category.
Strictly necessary
None. You can read every guide on this site with cookies completely disabled. We do not use login sessions, consent-management cookies or security tokens for readers.
Preferences
None by default. If we add a reader convenience in future, such as remembering a collapsed table of contents, it would use local storage in your browser only, would never leave your device, and would be listed here.
Analytics
Only if an analytics tool is enabled. When active, it counts page views and visits in aggregate so we know which Masagana88 guides Pinoy readers actually use. A typical tool of this kind sets one first-party cookie or local-storage key to tell a new visit from a returning one and records the page, referrer, device category and approximate region. We do not use analytics to identify individuals, and we do not combine it with any other data about you.
Third-party services
Google Fonts. Our typeface is loaded from Google's servers. This does not set cookies via our site, but your browser does send a request to Google, which can see your IP address and browser details. If you would rather avoid that, a content blocker can stop the request and the page will display in a system font.
Affiliate links. Buttons such as "Visit Masagana88" and "Claim Bonus" go to the operator's website. Any cookie used to attribute a registration to our site is set on the operator's domain, not ours, and is governed by the operator's own cookie and privacy policy. We receive only aggregate commission reports; see our affiliate disclosure.
We do not embed social media widgets, advertising networks or remarketing pixels.
Cookie summary table
| Category | Purpose | Duration | How to control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Not used – the site works without them | n/a | Nothing to do |
| Preferences | Not used by default; any future reader setting would use local storage on your device only | Until you clear site data | Clear site data in your browser |
| Analytics (only if enabled) | Aggregate visit counts: pages viewed, referrer, device type, approximate region | Session, or up to a set period for a returning-visit marker, depending on the tool | Block cookies for this site, use a content blocker, or browse in private mode |
| Third-party: Google Fonts | Loads the site typeface from Google's servers; no cookie set through our site | n/a (network request only) | Block fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com with a content blocker |
| Third-party: affiliate destination | Set by the operator's domain after you click an affiliate link, to credit registrations | Set by the operator; check their policy | Type the operator's address directly instead of clicking our button, or clear cookies for that domain |
How to manage cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data. Tara, here is where to look:
- Chrome (desktop and Android): Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site settings → Cookies and site data.
- Safari (Mac): Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Safari (iPhone/iPad): Settings → Apps → Safari → Block All Cookies, or Clear History and Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Manage Data, and the Enhanced Tracking Protection level.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Samsung Internet and other mobile browsers: look under Privacy or Site data in the settings menu.
Blocking all cookies will not affect your ability to read this site. It may, however, affect how the operator's platform works after you leave, since gaming sites generally require cookies for login sessions. Private or incognito browsing discards cookies when you close the window, which is a simple option if you prefer not to be counted by analytics at all.
Changes to this policy
If we enable, change or remove an analytics tool or add any new cookie or storage use, we will update this page and the table above, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. We recommend checking back occasionally, especially if you rely on strict privacy settings.
